Ode to Family
It's a quick one this time, a poem of sorts, or just the mind ramblings after a few brandies! It's only been two years since we were last home, but every time seems to be getting that bit harder to leave behind the family I grew up with. I guess there's some truth in the amber fluid helping in the constructive verses of the literary greats! This came to me after a half bottle of brandy, not much sleep and the continuous cycle of thought of the impending departure back to Australia in two days. I've foraged with the chieftain, Reminisced with the queen, Travelled highways with the princess, Tamed the mighty hound, Swapped stories with the elders, Downed ale with the kinsmen, Tis time to leave the land of high kings, Reacquaint with the dreamtime fellas, Farewell for now my Celtic heart, To recommence my larrikin soul!
